The band Raíces de Chuspa comes from a small village on the Caribbean coast of Venezuela. They have enhanced their village drum-traditions with a steaming brass section and a violin. Some songs focus on their African roots, but most songs adopt other mostly Caribbean influences blending these into a unique—festive, but mellow and relaxed—sound.

Wherever and whenever Raíces de Chuspa performs, there is a party. Merusa Records feels honored to present the first recording of this really magnificent band!
